按地雷的說法,你的問題和這個召回不一樣,但可以試試打它的電話備案。

WASHINGTON — Nissan is recalling 195,991 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 and 1996-2004 Nissan Pathfinder SUVs originally sold in cold-weather states because road salt may cause under-body corrosion that could cause the steering column to break, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

NHTSA says that water and corrosive salts could enter the front strut housing of the vehicles, potentially damaging the driver-side strut, which in turn could cause the steering column to break.

"Over time, this snow/water and salt intrusion may result in corrosion of the strut tower housing in some subject vehicles," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "The strut housing may crack and pull away from the inner hood ledge assembly. This may lead to grinding noises, increased steering effort, and possibly the steering column to break, resulting in the loss of steering control, which could result in a crash."

The recall covers 162,658 Nissan Pathfinders and 33,333 Infiniti QX4s. NHTSA has an open defect investigation into the matter, as 35 owners have filed reports about corrosion and damage to the front suspension. In five of these reports, the steering column is said to have broken.

The recalled Pathfinders and QX4s were originally sold in Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Wisconsin.

In mid-May, Nissan will mail notices to customers affected by the recall. Nissan and Infiniti dealers will inspect the strut housing and, if necessary, replace it for free. "In rare instances where it is impossible to repair the vehicle, Nissan will provide an appropriate remedy," the automaker told NHTSA.

Nissan also said that in the interest of "customer satisfaction," owners of Pathfinders and QX4s originally sold in warmer-weather states will receive a courtesy notification.

"They will be offered an opportunity to have their vehicles inspected at no charge if they believe their vehicle was operated for extended periods of time in states where Nissan is conducting a recall campaign, or they are unsure about their vehicle's history, or they believe their vehicles are exhibiting concentrated corrosion in the driver's side strut tower," said Nissan. "If necessary, the vehicles will be remedied free of charge."

In other documentation filed with the federal government, the automaker said that no other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles are affected because the design of the strut housing and steering column location is different than the models that are subject to the recall. However, Nissan issued a similar recall for certain Frontiers and Xterras in late 2010.
