The transmission shifts erratically, the Check Engine light is on and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is setting codes P0750 and P0751.

Tests/Procedures: |
1. Disconnect the PCM and check resistance of the Shift Solenoid A (SSA) circuit and solenoid by measuring between the Green/Yellow (GN/YE) wire at pin 73 and the transmission case. Resistance should indicate 10.5-26.0 ohms.
2. If resistance is OK, tap a jumper wire that is connected to power to the GN/YE wire and listen for the solenoid to "click" activate. Jumper the Green/Blue (GN/BU) wire at PCM pin 1 to ground for Shift Solenoid B (SSB) and listen for a similar sound to compare the click noise of SSA. 3. If the resistance in step 1 indicates high, check the GN/YE wire between the PCM and the transmission for an open circuit, replace the shift solenoid or service the transmission sub-harness as necessary. 4. If the circuit and solenoid test to be good, inspect the PCM connection before replacing the PCM. |
