I would pick Pathfinder in a heart beat. Reason:

1. less expensive with more standard features

2. serious off-road capability

3. can pull a serious boat (6000 lbs vs 1000 lbs)

4. quieter and ride as smooth

Bad side: gas

The 2005 model had a fault design on transmission oil pan where coolant get into it and cause the problem. It has been fixed long time ago. The engine and transmission itself on Pathfinder are excellent and should last long miles (at least 200k miles ++++)
