Thank you! Do I need more information of the alarm system

in my car beside the program instruction? If yes, it would be a problem because I know nothing about it. The guy sell the remote on Ebay told me to check for a Black button under the dash board in driver side. I only found a red button and I am not sure if I need information other than the program instruction. Could you tell me more about your experience? Can you simply follow the instruction? and Did you also need to press a button somewhere in your car to reset your alarm system?
