The best deal I've seen from Bimmerfest Forum is $500 over invoice minus $4500 diesel credit. But very much depending on your location. I'm in southern Cal where X5 diesel is flying out of the dealership. My deal is fair but not great and I'm happy about it. That's still after several dealerships' negotiation. It took 2 months from order to delivery due to the backlog. But the experience of the waiting is great. After 10 cars (9 Japanese + 1 BJ Jeep), I've finally decided to go with BMW.
If you let me know your email, I can send you the full invoice price with all options for X5 35D. Or you can search from bimmerfest forum for it which may take a bit time. Other than $4500 diesel credit (I think it is but need to check and see if still available), you can get $1800 tax credit next year when your file tax return (assuming you are in US). 35D can get 28mpg high way and excellent acceleration on highway. Local is so so, 19-20mpg. But for such heavy weight (5200+lb, which is 700lb heavier than MDX), the gas mileage is excellent. Handling and build quality is top notch. You'll get people's attention...
Good luck.
my price=invoice + $1400 - $4500(diesel credit) + fees&tax
