cabin air filter is for AC air flow, normally it is behind the passenger side glove box, a super easy DIY project.

air filter normally is referred to engine air filter. you don;t need to change it at every service, you can change it every 10K miles or 1 year. If the dealer asks you to change it so frequent, they are ripping you off.
