Before I continue with my Volvo cars story, I'd like to bring a side story about my work.
As I have mentioned that I run a charter bus company with over 90 vehicles. Most of them are highway coaches, and all of coaches are Canadian (Quebec) made Prevost. And Volvo owned 100% Prevost Cars. See the connection? Our fleet used to contain many other makes over the years such as MCI (Motorcoach Industry in Winnipeg), VanHool, Sentra (Mercedes-Benz in North America) and Blue Bird (worst bus ever). The only brand we kept now: Prevost (fortunately or unfortunately, it will be all Volvo buses and no more Prevost brand starting 2010 model). Why? Reliability in the long run. Not just when it is brand new, but also for 10 or 20 years down the road.
Commercial vehicles are no different than consumer vehicles: Safety first, and reliability.
By the way, all cars I mentioned in my previous post were/are my personal vehicles without any company involvement. Yes, of course, I do receive "VIP" treatment when servicing my cars. My mechanics would only use the best parts (Volvo parts) with extreme cares. Because? I am the boss...but I do pay for it.
See, I do not have any major problems with my Volvos at all, other than burn out light bulbs. Don't give me wrong, I am 40, I am not driving 90 on a 100 road. I made in 8 hours between Vancouver and Calgary with my XC70 in a winter night though the mountains (with two coffee breaks too). First of all, you need to know your car, know her limits and capability, know how to handle her and best of all, know how to treat her too...(just like your loved one, eh?)
To be continue...
