keyless entry worked for two cars

I went to dinner with friends in MD in 2008, close to a Chinatown. When we finished and approaching his Toyota carmy, he pressed his remote key and both his car and a nearby carmy also flashed. he did again, flashed again. Although we laughed but did not try to open that car's door. LOL
