Good point. In fact Toyota should buy back all of those

problem cars to fully dissect them to find out the cause(s) of the problem. But they have to do this without much publicity. Otherwise there will be a lot lot lot of their cars to buy back.

I bet they will do that soon, if they really want to win back the US market. We'll see.
