In USA VW Tiguan is a compact SUV, it is a compact mini-van in Chinese market. GM has 1/2 mini-van model in Buick brand. There are many mini-vans or sub-minivans from domestic automobile companies.

Don't buy a large velchel as you see in the states, otherwise you will have trouble to find a parking space, or even make a left/right turn. It is crazy experience to drive in Shanghai, if you learned driving technique in USA or Canada.
