Glad to see you again

Glad to see you again and thanks for your reply

The reason I posted this thread is because I wanted some scientific analysis on all possible upgrade option and pick the most rational one.

The goal is set my JK sit on 35 inch tire. To
keep the performance, I need to lower the ratio some where, either on axle or on transfer case or somewhere else like a different manual tranny

I read a lot on jk-forum.com and found axle ratio upgrade is very tricky, time consuming, especially on
the backlash and preload fine tunning. Besides, I have to upgrade two axles. therefore, I don't think
I can DIY because this JK is my daily commuter and I can not afford to spend more than 2 days on it.

Then I found that there is a Atlas Transfer case that
provide 4 ratios ranging from 1:1 to 10:1. Therefore,
I started my analysis as this.

All t-case so far provide 1:1 ratio in 2WD mode. If
I keep 3.73 axle and change tire to be 35 inch from 30inch. The performance will definitely go down. But
I know stock sahara has 3.2 axle ratio and 32 inch tire. So, to me the performance will still be better
than stock Sahara (is my analysis right on this?) on
street.

Then hitting offroad, this t-case will give tremendous
advantage since it can provide a beefy 10:1 ratio!

Of course, I will opt to add a ARB locker on the front
axle, but this will be much easier than gear ratio uprade since it simply plugs in a unit to make differential lockable.

Therefore, I am currently thinking the mere t-case upgrade will keep a near stock sahara performance,
while providing superior offroad ability.

One stupid question is, if I can find a t-case that
offer greater than 1 ratio in 2WD mode, say 1.3:1,
will that be equal to a axle upgrade from 3.73 to 5.13?
