賭城地雷行之一 -- 淩誌

因月初在拉斯維加斯買了房子要裝修的關係，我在當地逗留了一個星期，閑來無事，決定到車行逛逛。 大多數車行都集中在撒哈拉大道上，延綿數裏。 我把車子駛進Lexus代理商，剛把車停下，一個sales man快步向我走過來，”Hey, nice car”. 我說”Hey, dude, you mean those Lexus cars or my car? “他隻是微笑不作回答。 My name is Chris, do you care for a drink？我說”I had 9 bottles of Heineken within 2 hours and now I pretty sure making a wrong move, other wise I won’t be here to donate money for you. I’m looking for brand new LS, Chris”. 他聽後大笑, and says. “Gotcha”.
我倆一起走進陳列室，他很有禮貌地為我開門並說，I’ll show you a couple of my collections down stairs.
地下車庫並不大，一排三行大約80輛車左右，全是新車。他說LS460隻剩下5部，2010車款要到11月中旬才有貨。

我看上一輛灰黑色的，裏程表隻有12 miles，問他可否Test drive，他說要問問經理
當他hung up 電話之後，他說”at your pleasure, sir, we do have a demo up stairs for test drives”. 我說”no, I prefer to take that one for a test drive because it might have malfunctions that the demo car doesn’t have. I want to see if it has any problems before I buy it.”
他又打電話，兩分鍾之後出乎意外地他對我說,”Get in, Let’s go” 2009 Lexus LS460車款給我的印象是豪而不華，最讓我驚喜的是Navigation用上了Touch Screen. 美中不足的是後排坐位略顯不夠寬敞，急速加油反應慢，煞車保持了日本車一貫的作風。。。軟到驚。


15分鍾後回到停車場，Chris急不待及地問我”How you feel?”, 我對他說”Smooth ride, awesome car. That’s the one I’ve been looking for”. Chris問我”How do you want to pay for your car?” 我說”Isn’t troublesome to your commissions if I’m going to pay by check all at once?”他說”Great, less documents and it’s much easier for us.”我心想是時候了解價錢了，我問他”Chris, I like that car so badly, can you please do whatever you can to get me a discount?”他說”There’s not that much I can do. But I can give you two years extra warranty for free.” 我知道Chris他沒有多大權力講價，我也清楚我自己不是來買車的，隻想知道究竟LS460賣出的最低價位。所以我就跟他說”Alright, Chris, I’ll take the car today, and thanks for your friendly help”.他聽後高興到不得了，馬上和我到樓上office辦手續。
我知道辦買賣手續時一定要經過sales manager同意，不出所料，那個經理拿著份合同進來了，我們相互寒喧過後，Chris在填表，我對那個經理說”What’s the bottom line price for this car?”他說”For you, I’ll make it sixty-nine grand plus tax, is this not a good deal?”我說”One problem is that, I don’t really like the color of the car. My highest offer is sixty-five grand OTD”. 那個經理看著我說”You do know that the sales tax is already fifty-six hundred.” 我對那個經理說”I know, But I think this car doesn’t deserve to be sold at this price.” 經理聽後大大聲地說”Make it sixty-five grand plus tax, that’s the bottom line.”我一邊起身一邊說”Come on boss, I’m not a good negotiator.”然後，我走過去同Chris握握手，並說”Chris, call me if you are willing to sell the car to me at that price I’ve offered.
