If you are sure the vave is leaking

you can take it off. Get a new valve, put some teflon tape on the thread and then install the new valve.

However, you need to go to a shop to have all the air and moisture vacuumed out before you can recharge the system. unless you have a vacuum pump then you can do this yourself.
