I would avoid GL, I have followed GL for some time,

almost jump in for silver GL550, but the reliability issues really bother me. If you follow multiple online using forums you will find many incidence of unexpected lost power, and scaring user experience. I personally saw one GL strand in fast lane of the MassPike last winter. Safety is the most important resean for me to get large SUV. I really like the design of GL. I personally like LC, It is very classic (or boring if you like to called it), and capable.
