汽車的前麵設計和後麵設計的理念是完全不一樣的:
前頭要考慮各種碰撞,如 high-speed and low speed, ncap, iihs, 現在還要考慮碰行人的安全性。所以前頭有crash zone. 不幸的 radiator 又要在前頭散熱,所以碰下來,肯定是一地 coolant. 但是隻要人沒事,設計的初衷就達到了。
車後頭有油箱,所以要保證碰撞不能造成油箱變形,因此不會有 crash zone, 而是保證將力通過結構剛性傳到前頭,所以變形不會很大。
再者,前頭碰撞基本上是本車在動,很多時候是高速前行,然後在0.1秒中fully stop. 而後頭碰撞往往是被碰,從速度為零,在更長的時間中加速到(被推動)到10邁以下的速度。這兩個對車子的 structure integrity 完全是不同的測試。不可以就以此的結果來比較兩車的安全性。It's not apple to apple comparison!
