It is also a role-assuming decision to chose

a minivan since you are adding new members to your family -- congratulations. I have been there. It is better to have a van especially when the kids are little. I've found the following can't be beaten by a van:

1) auto sliding door (not exit for SUV) opening: when it is sunny in summer, it is very nice to remote-open both doors to let the hot air out. OK, my bimmer can open the windows by holding the a button. But it is still nicer to open the 2 doors to let a cold breeze go through the van before you even step in.

2) auto sliding door on van also very helpful when you have to hold the little one with hands occupied, in rain, etc. so you can just push a button and put the kid right into the carseat. There will be lots of times like that.

3) van is better for carrying strollers. Most of the vans nowdays have a sink-like trunk area and is low. So you don't have to fold your stroller like if you have to put it in a car or SUV. You can just drop it in and pull it out, ready to go.

4) van is bigger in space and you will need lots of space. Suppose you are driving and the kid(s) need attention, then the other one can just walk to the back to take care of them.

5) van is safer than many SUV. If you get the 4DW van and runflat tire then you basically are set in any condition. The runflat tire costs a bit more but you are driving a bimmer, right?

It is time to loss the bimmer. For now. Good luck!
