Here is what you'd better do:

1) Don't pay now
2) Call them to schedule a date of appearing
3) On the courthouse, you can tell the judge that you were rush due to personal reason but I'll no contest and like to take a online course. At this step, there is a good chance that the judge will reduce the fine amount.
4) Pay the fine at court and ask for approved online school list
5) Register one online school ($20-25 max)
6) Do online course, at the end, it will say you are complete
7) Depends on State you are in, you make get a certificate by mail that you'll need to mail to court. Some States allow the school sends cert to court directly.
8) You are off hook. No point.

If you pay now, you'll loose the opportunity of the fine amount being reduced. If you are busy and have no time to go to court, that is another question.
