Don't do that if not necessary!

And it also depends on which province you are living in.
In BC, it is no problems, because ICBC only takes how many years you have been lived in BC and how many years you have been licesenced.Thus you may cancel your policy.

In other provinces, you'd better don't do that. because most insurence companys using How many continouse years under a policy as a measure for your discount. In this case, it is not smart if you just want to save xxx$ and eventually cost you more.
I have a bad experience when I was in NB for this reason.

If you realy want to do so, you can ask your friend to add you to his/her policy, and it is still count.
