You may pass the check but it depends on what is wrong. On the car, that one light can tell you many thing, transmission, O2 sensor, etc. If it is not related to O2 sensor or anything related to exhaust system, you will be ok but they will mark on the certificate, which is not very good. If you know the problem is not there, you can reset light by remove the battery terminal from terminal for 1 minute and reconnect. The light will not light for a while if the problem is not two serious. Good luck.
