It's subject to searcher's intepretation on those issues reported by other users. If there is a pattern on the same problem reported by many people, that surely should cause the potential buyer's alert. If there are problems on critical parts like engine and transmission, I'll stay away from it, regardless what brand it is and how people praised it.
