美國國會參議院17日就波音(Boeing)飛機安全性舉行聽證會,波音工程師薩利普作證說,波音在追求更快速生產和更大利潤的同時,對安全問題置之不理,波音則駁斥相關指控。
薩利普(Sam
Salehpour)告訴參議員:“我很擔心波音787和777飛機的安全性,我願意冒著賠上工作的危險,將這些問題公諸於世。當我向公司提出我的顧慮時,他們忽視我,叫我不要害他們延遲交機,他們直接叫我閉嘴。”
薩利普效力波音17年,他指控波音發現飛機零件超出標準規格0.005英寸,約1根頭髮的寬度時,就叫人在上麵跳,用蠻力硬裝上去,“你這樣做個一兩次,它不會壞,但它會在未來某一刻斷裂。”他表示,整個787機隊應該停飛接受調查。
波音本周稍早辯駁,0.005英寸是“超級保守”的標準,即使飛機零件的隙縫比這大,但飛機飛了幾年後再檢查都沒發現金屬疲勞問題。
薩利普指控波音的辯解沒有根據,“當飛機飛在3萬5千英呎高空,1根頭髮寬就攸關生死。當我找主管談的時候,他阻止我留下或交出記錄,當產品經理說不要把東西交給專家的時候,問題就很大條了。”
參議院調查委員會主席布魯門塔(Richard
Blumenthal)說:“薩利普的指控令人震驚,等於是對波音安全文化的嚴重指控,波音一連串的做法都令人無法接受。”還有南卡工廠的技術人員投訴,波音恐嚇他們“外麵還有好幾百人等著要這份工作”,嚇阻他們質疑飛機的安全性。
