Salehpour)更向聯邦航空總署(FAA)舉報,部分機型存在結構上的缺陷,呼籲在全球停飛所有787夢幻客機(787
Dreamliners)進行檢查。
根據《衛報》,在波音工作10多年的薩利普今年1月向FAA舉報,777和787夢幻客機製造過程偷工減料,組裝工人在連接機身零件時未能確實填補微小的縫隙,恐怕縮短飛機壽命,且隨著飛機老化,這種風險恐怕演變成災難性故障。
然而,他向公司管理層提出對787製程的憂慮後遭到報複,無法參加會議且遭受威脅,後來更被調派進行777製造計畫。未料他在新的職位發現同樣有缺失,管理層卻向工程師施壓,要求他們對未通過檢查的部分開綠燈。
FAA仍在調查薩利普的指控,而他在17日出席參議院國土安全委員會聽證會前夕接受NBC訪問,被問及波音是否該停飛所有787夢幻客機,以進行檢查時坦言,「就我目前所知,全世界的787機隊都該注意,需要檢查縫隙並確保不會提前發生故障。」
波音則堅稱787和777係列的安全性,且公司不會容忍對吹哨者的報複行為,15日聲明表示,「出於我們為確保飛機品質及長期安全的全麵努力,我們對787夢幻客機充滿信心」,「這些有關787結構完整性的說法並不準確」。
