【疫情時刻】中文課，拯救自己

加拿大的病毒肺炎疫情：安省兩例，卑詩省一例。

今晚的中文課（7、8年級）是過年後第一次課，全班學生隻來了6名，還不到四分之一。其他族裔語言班（如俄語、西班牙語、希伯來語）一切如常。我們被告知教育局規定，上課不許戴口罩。不過，來上課的幾位學生也都沒有戴口罩，他們說其實沒必要。

有位學生參加奧數班，說那裏大部分是華人，大家都戴著口罩上課。

本來學生不多，而且學校安排的舞獅隊表演照常進行。所以，就沒有按教案上課。

語言學習需要和日常生活及時事結合，特別是使用一些過時的教材時。

讓學生談論天氣，預報天氣，什麽樣的天氣需要注意什麽是個很好的預熱過程。

今晚，結合這次疫情，臨時給學生簡單介紹了病毒的一般知識。冠狀病毒從動物宿主轉移到人類宿主的共生進化現象，可能的原因及雙方由對抗到相互適應過程的表現。如果不是人為結果的話，出於生存目的，病毒一旦選中人類做新的宿主，就一定會在以後的變異中降低自身對人類的毒性，減輕宿主症狀，減少宿主死亡率。

舞獅表演快結束時，允許家長進入。當華人家長們進來時，遠遠聽到其他族裔的孩子私下裏相互說：“Viruses come in.”

他們怎麽會這麽想呢？

教育局已經發出警告，把來自中國（實際上不僅僅中國有疫情）的人主觀地認為病毒攜帶者，這種想法本身就是一種病毒。

擔心被傳染是正常的，自我隔離是負責任的。但是，一些人缺乏責任心，導致另一些人的過激的歧視性反應，以及過激的防範行為，是不是在事實上已經把我們整體變成了別人眼中的病毒傳播者了呢？我們該怎樣去反擊別人對我們整體的歧視呢？

拯救別人，得先拯救自己。
