他生前貧病潦倒，身後卻聲名大振。其中的一幅畫作《加歇醫生》於1990年5月15日還以8250萬美元的價格創下了當年藝術品拍賣價格 的最高世界紀錄。他就是著名的荷蘭後印象派畫家文森特·梵高。而加歇醫生是梵高的精神科醫生。是梵高的弟弟提奧介紹的，也喜愛繪畫。他在梵高充滿傷痛與絕 望的短暫人生中，伴隨著梵高度過了生命的最後兩個月。他認為工作能夠平撫梵高劇烈的情緒波動，所以鼓勵梵高多繪畫。他也是最早對梵高畫作給予至高評價的 人。更多的梵高生平介紹請看下麵的紀錄片或點擊此鏈讀文字介紹: 文森特·梵高 。
