Friendly Fires: 當年幾位來自倫敦西北郊St Albande的在校中學生， 一起組織樂隊演唱，那時他們才14歲，現在已經是英國人氣上升的樂隊，甚至被歐美音樂雜誌稱為：“ 這個星球上最令人興奮的樂隊 ”， 他們在中國都有粉絲。

第一次聽他們的的歌是他們那首：Kiss of Life 生命之吻， 歌和MTV都很美。 英國的中學生動不動3， 5幾個組樂隊是常有的事，學校也很鼓勵，甚至還出錢從外麵請老師教教流行樂隊的學生們運氣發聲

St Alban是一個很美倫敦北郊的小鎮，去過那， 那有一古老的大教堂Cathedral of St Alban ，更吸引人的是那附近有一個比較出名的玫瑰園：Garden of Rose, 去過， 那附近還有一些農場，可以去那摘草莓，摘豆角，是夏日周末的好去處，誰說St Alban荒野無人？好像著名作家蕭伯納在St Alban還有個小屋紀念館什麽的

關於樂隊的誕生地，英國的聖奧爾本斯有這麽幾條信息： 1972 年這裏發動了爭取散裝啤酒運動；是英國皇家玫瑰協會的基地；這裏還拍攝過一些關於督察莫爾斯的電影。換句話說，這裏是一個廣闊無人的郊外。對出生在這裏的 Ed Macfarlane, Edd Gibson 和 Jack Savidge 來說，除了組建樂隊沒有太多別的選擇。

雖然樂隊誕生在一個比較無聊地區，如今樂隊卻成了全國最令人興奮的新生樂隊之一。他們是最早在第四頻道 “ 傳輸秀 ” 節目中現身的簽約樂隊。第一廣播電台的 DJ Zane Lowe, Colin Murray and Rob Da Bank 是他們的歌迷。 FRIENDLY FIRES 現在已經簽到 XL 旗下，跟 Radiohead ， labelmates 、 white Stripes 是同門師兄弟。

Macfarlane 麥克法蘭（主唱，合成器，低音）， Gibson 吉布森（吉他手）和 Savidge （鼓手）在上學的時候相識，隨後他們組成了自己的第一個樂隊，稱為 “First Day Back” 當時他們隻有 14 歲，他們的音樂當時混合了 Fugazi 、後硬核以及混合了沒有人聲的搖滾吉他。 “ 我知道， ”Savidge 笑著說， “ 當時我們把所有東西都看得過重， ” 。麥克法蘭說： “ 顯然，這以後發生了很多變化。當時我們並不願意創作流行歌曲，但現在我們確實想在寫一些介於流行樂邊緣的東西。 “ 同樣 Friendly Fires 的音樂也受到一些舞曲的影響。
