    馬遠新、王海華夫妻是寧夏自治區西吉縣沙溝鄉中口村人， 2004年，西吉縣發生一起盜竊案，警方懷疑是馬遠新所為，並在一天早上翻窗進入馬遠新家，試圖抓捕馬遠新。結果警方在翻窗進入馬家時，睬到了馬遠新剛出生的兒子，小孩當時就嚴重受傷，送到醫院後不冶身亡。
    這件事情發生後，當地警方給了馬遠新家一萬七千元，說是生活補助。馬遠新夫婦對此非常不滿，很快就開始了上訪的不歸路。從2004年開始，夫妻二人上訪了30多次，後來被當局定性為“纏訪”，2006年1月，王海華被當局判刑五年投入監獄。
   
    2006年12月，馬遠新帶著已有的三個兒子到北京上訪，他們露宿街頭，一直堅持到2007年6月15日。當天，馬遠新領著兩個兒子去國務院信訪辦上訪，另一個兒子馬虎雄則沒有去。6月15日下午，正在國務院信訪辦上訪的馬遠新父子三人突然被趕來的西吉縣警方的人抓走，6月16日，馬遠新父子三人被抓回西吉縣。隨即，馬遠新被處以行政拘留十天的處罰。
   
    昨天，馬遠新拘留期滿出獄，民生觀察隨即對他進行了采訪。據馬遠新講，6月15日警方找到他後，立即將他押走，還給他戴上背銬，他根本沒有機會去找馬虎雄。就這樣，七歲的馬虎雄被遺落在北京，現在生死未卜。
   
    談到馬虎雄，馬遠新非常傷心和著急，他不知道他這個兒子現在怎麽樣了，他表示，他正在籌集路費，準備馬上到北京去找兒子。
