Tea was used as a mouthwash in the East long before science discovered it contains fluoride (the English would negate this advantage by adding copious amount of sugar to their tea); tea also contains a great many vitamins and minerals-- one of the highest concentrations in any plants-- and prodigious quantities of polyphenols, compounds rich in antioxidants.
