culture difference. I still remember how I translated 單位 into English many years ago. So ignorant about English culture even though I tried to memorize many many English words. As we all know, language and culture are much much more than words can simply express. Fortunately, my professor knows more about Chinese culture than I do about English. He accepted my application documents without distracted by my poor English then, which, I guess, partially explained why he is a professor and me a student.
