My goodness, you were robbed twice again. Did those robbers belong to the mafia or any kind of gang groups? Where was the policeman? Your life was full of adventure stories. I could not wait to hear it.

Tell you what? I have never really got over the death of my mother.  My mom died of caner years ago.

When I got home from college, my dad opened the door. It was the first time that I saw tears in my father's eyes. I knew my mom passed away. I walked to her bed and called her. She suddenly opened her eyes. I was too shocked to cry. I was terrified. My mother never closed her eyes. It was my brother's friend who closed her eyes.

My mother was diagnosed with colon cancer the year before. Although she went through surgery and chemotherapy, the cancer had spread to her liver.  The last time I visited her in the hospital, she was in such a pain. Pain meds did not work any more. She told me that she did not want to live any more.  I could not do anything to ease her pain. I was so helpless. My mom died a month later.
