You must have heard the phrase "buyer's remorse". Yes, it is the feeling of anxiety or regret after buying something. Well, having had my fair share of this remorse over the years, recently I realized that I can give myself a big "shopper's discount" instead. Here is how it works. Now when I go shopping, I will first come up with what to buy and how much to buy as usual. Then, I will cut back the amount by 40-60%, because I know that my first impulse is usually off by that amount. For example, if I want to buy 5 apples in the first place, I will only buy 2 or 3 in the end - I know that I am not that disciplined to eat one apple a day during the week; rather, I will be happy if I can finish 2 or 3 before the next weekend. This way, I give myself a big discount, our refrigerator is less crowded, and, most importatly, our food stays fresh. Do you want the shopper's discount as well? You surely can give it to yourself!
