海景屋裏的感恩節 This year Thanksgiving falls on the 28th of November, which is the last possible date of the holiday. I pay special attention to the dates because we have two turkey babies in the family. My hu*****and was born on thanksgiving day, my mother-in-law still talks about how the turkey was in the oven and she had to rush to the hospital and missed the feast. My son was born two days before thanksgiving, it is fair to say that his first feast was Thanksgiving dinner. Any one with a Nov 22-28th birthday are called turkey babies, they all have a chance to celebrate with double delight: birthday on Thanksgiving. 感恩節這些天，一起到公婆海濱別墅去過節，十八口人同在一個屋簷下，有的高談闊論，有的低頭看書，有的玩牌，有的打盹，有的去海濱放風玩耍，也總有人在廚房裏團團轉地忙碌。可以理解婆婆為了這七個孫子孫女付出的心血。 周二我家大火雞先把小火雞接回家，因為他倆生日都在感恩節這幾天，我呢，自己烤了火雞，迎大寶到家，與姥姥一起過節。周四開車去海濱房，跟爺爺奶奶過節，路上有些堵車，想起感恩節回家路那部電影『planes, trains, automobiles』，這是全國最多車在路上的一天，每個人都為了那團圓的晚宴，不遺餘力往家趕。 The beach house is located in a small town north of San Francisco. This part of the country is the hidden jewel of California. 海濱屋座落於舊金山以北,這一片海岸可以說是加州隱藏的珍珠。保留著大自然最原始的美麗。小鎮常駐人口隻有兩百人，大多數人家的度假屋都是周末和節假日才被占領。從海景屋望去，瑞絲岬角綿延入海，在半島的另一端，是著名的瑞絲燈塔，也是美國西海岸風力最強勁的地方。 如果從舊金山金門大橋出發，到瑞絲小鎮隻有35邁的距離，距鬧市不遠，就有這樣悠閑靜謐的地方，風吹草低見牛羊。這裏海產豐富，沿途有很多別具一格的餐館，我們雖然大都在海景屋自己做飯，偶爾也去享受一下附近的特產。 夕陽裏的剪影 笨笨也迫不及待地等著感恩節大餐 His name is Benito, I shortened it to Ben Ben, everyone loved it, then I told them the meaning in Chinese, they laughed and said, "It suits him well, he does silly things all the time!" 海景屋陽台上的日落。在烤箱裏烤一隻大火雞，陽台上炸一隻火雞的時候，夕陽西下，映在海麵上，斑駁的金光。 雪兒幫助擺桌子 與火雞配套的傳統食品：蔓越梅醬，蘋果醬，紅薯，麵包，填料（stuffings），土豆泥，培根炒球芽甘藍（brussel sprouts），小豆角洋蔥焙盤（greenbean casserole），玉米麵填料焙盤（corn meal stuffing)，主角是火雞 上圖：一隻23磅的火雞是傳統方式烤的 下圖：另一隻12磅的小火雞用新買的轉式方鍋在陽台炸一下，色澤金黃 孩子們一起玩牌，牆上是爺爺的畫作和北歐運回來的帆船。 雪兒和表妹們 第三天是周六，給大寶和堂弟一起過生日 Traditional thanksgiving desserts: pumpkin pie, pecan pie and apple pie 傳統感恩節甜品：南瓜派，胡桃派和蘋果派，婆婆和好友帕西拉一共做了六個 窗外海景，很多年前沒有前麵那個房子，景色更開闊些，能看到180度。遠處的岬角是瑞絲岬角point Reyes ，海角天涯近在眼前。 望海的銅狗，它是否有和忠犬八公一樣的故事？ Hachiko: a dog's tale 海濱小鎮也有迎客鬆 在我們住的街角不遠處來了很多老牛 這戶鄰居家象是一座燈塔, a lighthouse look a like house 十一月底的加州海岸溫暖如春，岸上我們隻穿一件單衣，孩子們也不怕水涼 水麵如鏡，雪兒換上bodysuit for surfing 雪兒和表妹玩衝浪,surfing USA 沙灘上毛茸茸的小狗,cute fuzzy dog on the beach 大寶enjoys the sunshine Beachhouses on the cliff 相關鏈接 點擊看感恩的季節感謝有你 點擊看感恩節火雞提前出爐了 點擊看海濱房過感恩節
