Yes, I also tried to fool myself to think that “Fifty is new forty” and “Sixty is a new fifty” – that kind of stuff. With hair dye, false teeth, or even plastic surgery, it might be possible to make a fifty-year-old looks like forty or sixty like fifty. But I don’t want to kid myself anymore. 50 is 50, period. 作舟’s essays really made me think a lot. As we age, we need to learn how to accept ourself and be at peace with our aging bodies and minds.
