Thank you for doing such an extensive research on the word. I think I have read enough to know what I am doing. “Paraphernalia” is not a rarely used word. You are comfortable with the word, then use it confidently. There are tons of "paraphernalia" from only one site www.cbc.ca. I only select several to show its possible usages. By the way, we all should trust and base our judgements on dictionaries, otherwise, why do we need dictionaries after all? Of all options, I will give my full trust to dictionaries.
