Can you surf the net without a computer mouse?
Give it a try: do not use your computer mouse, how well (will) can you (be able to) surf the Internet?
You used both “the net” and “ the internet”, I would use one term. Or if you want to use both, use Internet in the first sentence, net the second.
(Do you) (f)Feel that it's mission impossible? Awkward? Frustrated? (If your answer is yes to any of these questions,) (y)You're not alone.
But there are some shortcuts which may help you in this kind of situation.
This sentence sounds a little bit out of place here, not good for the flow. I would delete it.
My computer mouse suddently stopped working (I would use died on me) last night. It seemed that it was
impossible for me to even go to this forum. My home page was msn.com and after opened IE,
I had to hit the Tab key a lot of times to have the (URL) Address field of the IE highlighted
so that the URL of this forum (could) can be entered. It was so inconvenient if it's not impossible
to even go to a different forum or blog in wenxuecity.(事態) So I figured out (I would delete “out” here)maybe it's a time
for me to learn something new. I then played with IE and found some IE/desktop shortcuts as follows: (I think here should be “as follow”, because “as” 指代 shortcuts) (which can be used when a mouse is not available.)
F6 - This is the most important one. When you hit F6, the URL field is highlighted so that one can enter a different URL to visit a different web page. (inconsistent 人稱)
F5 - This one is for refreshing. I guessed many have known this already. (不算錯,but I would say “I guess many of you already know this”).
F11 - Toggles between full screen and non-full screen mode of a web page.
Ctrl-F - I call this combination as Search or Find key. This one is very useful. When one needs to go to a link inside a web page, in most cases one has to hit the Tab key for many times to have the link highlighted. With the help of the Find key, I can go to the desired link by entering just a few keys. (Not very sure if I get it, do you mean “I can go to the desired link by entering just a few words or letters to search them, and when the words or letters are found, my cursor will be pointed the link”?)
Alt-Tab - This combination of the keys lets you switch from one Windows program to another or your desktop.
Alt-F4 - This is used to end a Windows program.
Maybe you know some tips too. Why not share them wtih us?
I will be very interested to see if there is a way to highlight an area for Copy and Paste.
文科非青年的我還想到一點:Yesterday, I read in the news “Apple will announce that by early 2012 every screen they make will be touch-enabled, including the entire Mac line.”. It seems Microsoft is doing the same thing for Windows 8. You might want to mention this as something 與時俱進,哢哢。 I would say something like this: Some people say that mouse is “dead” with the current development in touch screen technology, so my above tips might become absolete next week as Apple WWDC will announce their ambition in making all computers touch-enabled. Who knows, the tips might become handy when the screen stops working. J
