A starting point, 起點、開端。

美國總統奧巴馬希望能重新啟動中東和談，但是分析人士說，

"Obama's first task is to get the two sides to agree on a starting point for negotiations,"
奧巴馬的首要任務就是要讓雙方找到一個彼此都能接受的談判起點。


在剛剛結束的20國集團峰會上，與會首腦表示，要聯合行動，加強金融控製，糾正經濟的失衡狀態。雖然沒有規定具體目標，但是觀察人士說，

"The action plan is a good starting point,"
這項行動計劃是一個好的起點。
