學一個詞：status quo（英語聽力）ZT



今天我們要學的詞兒是status quo。

Status quo是指現狀。

Maintain the status quo
是維持現狀；

restore the status quo
是恢複原狀。

美國國會在移民改革議案的問題上繼續存在嚴重分歧。商務部長古鐵雷斯表示，
"We should not walk away and keep the status quo,"
意思是我們不應該就此放棄，維持現狀。

他接著說，
"Walking away from the bill suggests that we are comfortable with the status quo,"
是說放棄這項議案，就意味著我們對現狀感到滿意。
