insurance policy is an individual, not an estate, the proceeds will be paid to the benificiary directly by insurace company without considering your will, doesnot even go through probation, which estate has to go through.

But you can always contact your insurance company and change beneficiary, that way you can split the insurance proceeds among several beneficiaries.
