Scientific Writing (II): Third vs. First Person
1) Most text contents should be written in the third person to avoid sounding like an autobiographical account by a narcissistic author.
2) However, it is better to use the first person in scientific writing, for things that you want to emphasize what “you” uniquely did (i.e., not things that many others have done as well).
