I guess the right English is SICK not ill. They typically mean different things.
Reckless driving with record? You will be considered a potential danger to others on the road and your family.
So the best way is to tell the judge that you are very sorry and did not notice the speed limit had changed.
Do you try to find "smart execuses" since they have seen and heard all kinds of excuses.
The judge might let you go with a fine but no deductions on your points.
