Mr. Putin, you have a handsome boy 

As I do, they are about the same age 

I have a suggestion for you

Let’s swap our boys for a week 

Mr. Putin, I present you my son, Mykola 

Along with all my love and hope for him 

 

 

 

He is not crying or acting out anymore

He doesn’t wet his bed anymore 

Beneath the sheet, he stays still

Like a patch of grass from a harsh winter, 

Heavy spring rain pours over it

But it won’t come back green

 

 

 

Please let him sleep next to you, each night

Tell him a story as you would to your own boy 

Tell him why you send troops to his hometown 

Tell him why it worths millions of lives, and his life

His skin turns pale day by day, on the 7th day 

He turns into a white stork, and flies away 

 

 

 

I will do the same to your son, Mr. Putin

After one week, you and I have a 

Father-to-father conversation. Since Feb 24th,

One in two Ukrainian children was displaced

136 children have died, 200 injured  

Your countable nights left in this world

Will be spent with them, this way
