昨晚我夢見了很多雞

昨天晚上我夢見了很多雞，
牠們到處都是，
牠們站在我的肚子上，
牠們在我的頭髮上築窩
牠們在我的枕頭上啄食，
牠們在我的頭上跳來跳去，
牠們在我的床上互相追逐時
弄亂了自己的羽毛。
牠們站在椅子和桌子上，
牠們跳上枝形吊燈，
牠們棲息在角落裡，
牠們在我的耳邊咯咯地叫，
到處都是雞，雞，雞...
目所能及的都是。
今天當我醒來時，我發現
有雞蛋在我身上。
 
Last Night I Dreamed Of Chickens

Last night I dreamed of chickens,
there were chickens everywhere,
they were standing on my stomach,
they were nesting in my hair,
they were pecking at my pillow,
they were hopping on my head,
they were ruffling up their feathers
as they raced about my bed.
They were on the chairs and tables,
they were on the chandeliers,
they were roosting in the corners,
they were clucking in my ears,
there were chickens, chickens, chickens
for as far as I could see...
when I woke today, I noticed
there were eggs on top of me.
 

傑克•普魯斯基

（生於1940年，九月八日）
傑克•普魯斯基是一名美國童詩作家。他和他的妻子卡洛琳現居在華盛頓的西雅圖。傑克出生在紐約的布魯克林，父親查理斯是一名電工和水管工人，母親桃樂西婭是一位家庭主婦。他在貧困中長大，在成為一名作家之前，他做過很多散工，包括計程車司機、搬家工人、餐館雜工、製陶工人、木工、挨家挨戶的推銷員。普魯斯基也愛畫想像中的動物，他的一個朋友鼓勵他把畫作寄給一個在紐約的出版商。普魯斯基寫了超過 50 部的詩集，包括【噩夢：讓你不能入睡的詩】（1976年）和【萬聖節到了】（1977）等等。
