It is the first time I planted narcissus, there come three flowers this weekend, but why do they bend their heads down? Why not look up to the sun like other flowers? Or at least facing the front, is it because the cold air for the past two days? Or sick?

In Greek mythology, Narcissus (/nɑ?r?s?s?s/; Ancient Greek: Ν?ρκισσος Nárkissos) was a hunter from Thespiae in Boeotia (alternatively Mimas or modern day Karaburun, Izmir) who was known for his beauty. According to Tzetzes, he rejected all romantic advances, eventually falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water, staring at it for the remainder of his life. After he died, in his place sprouted a flower bearing his name. One day Narcissus was walking in the woods when Echo, an Oread (mountain nymph) saw him, fell deeply in love, and followed him. Narcissus sensed he was being followed and shouted "Who's there?". Echo repeated "Who's there?" She eventually revealed her identity and attempted to embrace him. He stepped away and told her to leave him alone. She was heartbroken and spent the rest of her life in lonely glens until nothing but an echo sound remained of her.
The word narcissism comes from narcissus.
