【英譯漢】

The idea of aligning waking hours to daylingt hours to conserve candles was first proposed in 1784 by US polymath Benjamin Franklin. In a satirical letter to the editor of The Journal of Paris, Franklin suggested that waking up earlier in the summer would economize candle usage and calculated considerable savings.

1784年，美國博學家本傑明·富蘭克林首次提出，將起床的時間與天亮的時間保持一致，用以節約蠟燭使用的想法。在給《巴黎雜誌》編輯的一封具有調侃的口氣的信中，富蘭克林建議在夏天早起可以節省蠟燭的使用量，並給了計算出的可觀的節省量。
