Pretty sad fact of Goldens, Golden retrivers are prone to have cancers, one of the highest of all dog breeds, 60% golden retrivers died from cancer. However, Labrador retrivers are healthier, less likely to have cancers though with other genetic defects as any dog breeds, average life time is also longer. 

Same as goldens, labs are also loving, gentle, playful in their puppyhood, very quiet(seldom bark), born to be expert swimmers.
