公司裏都用PAY GRADE的.a lot of times, they overlapped each other. So 25 percentile of the senior analyst might be the same as the analyst at 75 percentile. so, you may not need to take a pay cut at all.
Just ask. worst case, they say no. If they want you, they will allow you to bargain, especially, your former boss. Not to worry.
