Prune in Fall (Late Fall After Frost)

• Wait until after the first hard frost has finished off the foliage, usually by October or November.
• Cut all the stems back to the ground level, leaving about an inch or two above the soil to mark the plant's location. 

• This dormant period is essential for the plant's health and growth for the following spring.
