TurboTax 手把手（1）： where do enter taxes paid in 2011

If they were Federal taxes, you don't enter them anywhere because they are not deductible.

if they were State taxes, then the tax part, not any penalties or interest are deductible,

- manual filer, input on sch A of form 1040;

- TT user, steps as follows:

Personal
Deductions and Credits
explore on my own
Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Other Income Tax
