the simple answer is if you asset (not only current asset and think your future asset) is more than 3 million and you do not know another better way to hide your asset, buy UIL. If not, do not buy.
The complex answer is: as the UIL is an insurance plus investment product and it is really comp-lex than other investment profuct, spend some time to learn it. After yourself be an expert and understand the good and bad points, you know you the answer.
If some one like to pay me $2000 and I can teach him/ker understand. I have spend years time learn it and know the tricks. I do not sale it. Actually if you can spend much less money to learn it.
The last comment is if you do not understand it fully, do not buy.
