給父母辦移民，FBI沒過，怎麽辦？

recently INS interviewed my parents for immigration, but they only granted my mother greencard, not to my father. The reason for my father not to get his is because the FBI background checking is still pending. My father should have no problem on background checking.

The immigration officer said it could take up to 3 months to get any result from FBI. I heard from one of my friends, his background checking took him more than 2 years for his cityzenship.

Is there any way I can check on the status of FBI background checking? If after we wait for several months, and still cannot get any result, what can we do?
