急!!! 485 pending, H1 延期被拒. (詳情見內)

本人在學校工作, 140已批, 485(包括765) pending,申請H-1延期時,因係裏耽誤,且寄錯了地方,等寄到正確地址時,為時已晚(大概晚一兩天). H-1 status批準,但延期被拒. 請問這種情況下還能否合法工作?
我的理解是,485 pending允許我在美合法居住,H-1 Approval允許我合法工作,加起來就沒有問題了. 是這樣嗎? 若不是,有什麽辦法保住工作嗎?
